About the Company

Paragon is recruiting a Senior Sustainability & Energy Specialist for an Exploration & Production (E&P) company in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be based in the company's Dubai office and will provide senior-level expertise across sustainability, ESG, energy, emissions and environmental management.

The Opportunity

The role will lead the implementation and continuous development of the company's sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, international standards and applicable UAE requirements.

The specialist will also play a central role in strengthening the company's sustainability management systems, coordinating ESG data across departments and delivering accurate, decision-useful sustainability reporting.

What You'll Do

Sustainability & ESG Strategy

  • Design, execute and continuously refine the company-wide ESG and sustainability strategy.
  • Develop sustainability policies, strategies, manuals, guidelines and codes of practice.
  • Benchmark ESG performance against local, regional and international standards.
  • Identify sustainability gaps and develop improvement action plans.

Energy, Environment & Climate

  • Support GHG accounting and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Develop environmental impact assessment programmes.
  • Lead clean energy, green building, energy and resource conservation initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental and sustainability forecasting and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Assess sustainability opportunities and prioritize them based on value and impact.

Data & Sustainability Reporting

  • Establish systems for identifying, collecting, validating and reporting sustainability KPIs.
  • Develop processes for consolidating sustainability data across departments.
  • Ensure sustainability data is accessible, accurate and traceable.
  • Prepare ESG and sustainability reports aligned with GRI and relevant disclosure standards.
  • Develop ESG dashboards and performance metrics to track year-on-year progress.

Governance, Compliance & Auditing

  • Conduct sustainability compliance and integrated management system audits.
  • Review sustainability-related scopes of work and third-party consultants.
  • Ensure projects comply with corporate policies, standards, guidelines, codes of practice and local regulations.
  • Monitor developments in sustainability technology, legislation and professional standards.

Culture & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and train sustainability champions across the organization.
  • Coordinate company-wide sustainability initiatives with business and operational teams.
  • Evaluate sustainability initiatives using qualitative and quantitative approaches.
  • Communicate sustainability performance and outcomes to internal stakeholders.
  • Support CSR and sustainability campaigns that strengthen environmental culture.

Requirements

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in energy and environmental roles within the upstream Oil & Gas industry.

Professional Certifications Candidates should hold an ISO 14001/50001 Lead Auditor certification, GRI certification or equivalent ESG qualification.

Technical Expertise
