The Opportunity
Dr. Bronner’s is seeking an Impact Analyst to support the company’s environmental and social impact measurement work.
The role will focus heavily on sustainability data, greenhouse gas accounting, carbon modeling, Fair Trade impact measurement and life cycle assessment. The successful candidate will help develop analytical tools and databases that enable the company to better understand and reduce its environmental footprint while measuring social outcomes across its operations and supply chains.
What You’ll Do
Carbon & Environmental Impact
- Develop carbon emissions models and calculators covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
- Research and apply appropriate greenhouse gas emission factors.
- Model carbon sequestration and carbon-cycle impacts associated with tree planting and photovoltaic initiatives.
- Conduct Life Cycle Assessments for products, ingredients and packaging.
- Support sustainability-focused product development and improvement.
Data & Analytics
- Collect, integrate and analyze environmental and social impact datasets.
- Develop and maintain environmental and social footprint databases.
- Build data capture, analysis and reporting systems.
- Perform quantitative data modeling and statistical analysis.
- Translate complex sustainability datasets into useful insights for internal decision-making.
Research & Impact Measurement
- Conduct peer-reviewed scientific literature research.
- Support Fair Trade data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Conduct qualitative research related to environmental and social impacts.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for impact measurement and reporting.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to strengthen sustainability data systems.
Requirements
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience collecting, analyzing and modeling environmental or social impact data.
- Relevant master’s degree may substitute for the bachelor’s degree and experience requirements.
Technical Expertise
- Experience with greenhouse gas inventories, including Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
- Experience with database management systems and SQL.
- Experience with data visualization.
- Strong dataset collection, manipulation and analysis skills.
- Experience developing and applying greenhouse gas emission factors.
- Experience with quantitative data modeling.
- Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment methodologies.
- Strong statistical and qualitative research capabilities.
