About the Company

Earthshot is building something far more ambitious than a typical sustainability company.

They are constructing the operating system for nature-based carbon finance.

Their platform, LandOS, compresses what used to take years, site analysis, modeling, financing readiness, into dramatically shorter cycles. The implication is simple and powerful:

Speed equals scale.
Scale determines climate impact.

The Role

This is not a generalist sustainability job.

It is a deep technical leadership role at the intersection of:

Forestry science
Carbon accounting
Climate finance

You are the person who ensures that carbon projects are not just credible, but audit-proof, investment-ready, and scalable.

What You’ll Do

Project Development & Execution

Lead IFM carbon projects end-to-end
From boundary delineation to carbon quantification and reporting

MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification)

Design monitoring systems
Oversee reporting accuracy
Lead verification and audit processes

Technical Leadership

Guide teams on carbon methodologies and compliance standards
Ensure alignment with ACR and industry best practices

Strategic Oversight

Maintain a system-level view of project timelines and dependencies
Ensure all moving parts align with compliance and delivery goals

Stakeholder Communication

Produce high-quality reports
Communicate clearly with clients, auditors, and partners

Project Management

Track milestones, manage workflows, and ensure execution discipline

Science & Modeling Support

Work with tools like FVS and Woodstock
Support inventory design, sampling, and modeling

Business Development Support

Contribute to proposals, client calls, and industry engagement

What You Need

This role is unapologetically specialized.

Core Experience

3+ years in IFM carbon project development (U.S. or Canada)
Hands-on experience across full project lifecycle
Experience leading validation and verification site visits

Technical Depth

Expert knowledge of ACR methodologies
Advanced forest carbon inventory and modeling expertise
Experience with FVS, Woodstock, and related tools

Industry Fluency

Understanding of forest management practices
Ability to align carbon standards with real-world constraints

Professional Edge

Strong communication and stakeholder management
Independent execution with minimal supervision
Cross-disciplinary collaboration ability

What Makes This Role Different

Most climate jobs talk about impact.

This one has to prove it mathematically.

Every assumption you make gets audited.
Every number must survive scrutiny.

This is where:

Ecology meets finance
And opinion dies, replaced by verification

Reality Check

This role is not for:

General ESG professionals
Policy-only candidates
Entry-level sustainability profiles

This is for someone who can walk into a forest, collect data, model it, defend it to auditors, and translate it into financial-grade carbon credits.

Why It Matters

Carbon markets are under pressure.

Credibility is everything.

And credibility is built by people who understand both:

The science of forests
And the mechanics of markets

That is exactly what this role demands.
