Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (SEA), the U.S. sales and marketing subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, is a leader in mobile technologies, consumer electronics, home appliances, enterprise solutions and network systems.

For more than four decades, Samsung has contributed to innovation, economic growth and workforce opportunities across the United States, investing more than $100 billion and employing more than 20,000 people nationwide.

The company is combining its broad portfolio of products, services and AI technologies to create smarter, more sustainable and connected experiences.

The Opportunity

Samsung Electronics America is seeking a Senior Manager, ESG and Sustainability to accelerate the scale and impact of its ESG programs across the United States.

The position will work across internal teams to manage ESG compliance and reporting, strengthen sustainability governance and integrate sustainability into business operations.

The role will focus on areas including product energy efficiency, responsible materials, sustainable operations, product stewardship and sustainability engagement.

The successful candidate will also support communications, sales and operations teams while measuring and reporting SEA's progress against its sustainability goals.

What You'll Do

Compliance & Reporting

Coordinate ESG compliance activities across SEA subsidiaries, including California climate disclosure regulations and other U.S. ESG disclosure requirements.

Lead an internal task force involving Legal, Finance and cross-divisional stakeholders to ensure ESG reporting is verified and assured.

Support emissions verification and assurance processes.

Governance & Engagement

Recommend sustainability KPI dashboards and support regular reporting on SEA's sustainability performance.

Coordinate cross-functional initiatives supporting strategic sustainability objectives.

Improve visibility and alignment around sustainability priorities across SEA.

Support sustainability events, training and employee engagement programs.

Communications & Reputation

Review sustainability claims used in marketing, public relations and corporate ESG reporting.

Update the U.S. Environmental Toolkit and other sustainability communications.

Refresh Samsung's sustainability award and recognition strategy.

Prepare award applications in partnership with internal stakeholders.

Work with Samsung's digital and compliance teams to audit online sustainability content and ensure information remains accurate and current.

Sales Support

Respond to sustainability-related RFPs and customer inquiries.

Develop and refresh sustainability training for SEA sales and service teams.

Create sustainability collateral for customer interactions.

Benchmark major customers' sustainability priorities and identify potential partnership opportunities.

Operations

Support fulfillment of Samsung's North American Green Power commitment.

Identify opportunities to streamline green power procurement and reduce costs.

Support facilities in developing and maintaining strong ENERGY STAR performance.

Benchmark sustainability practices among SEA vendors.

Develop proposals for a green procurement recognition program.

Requirements

Core Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Senior-level experience developing and implementing ESG programs, particularly programs that integrate sustainability into business strategy and operations.

Strong business and financial acumen.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify problems and develop solutions.

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Experience working with and influencing company leadership on new policies and programs.

Experience implementing integrated ESG programs involving:

  • Sustainability goal setting
  • Performance metrics
  • KPI reporting
  • Internal management systems

Deep understanding of contemporary ESG issues and stakeholder perspectives.

Ability to anticipate trends and issues that could affect business strategy and corporate reputation.

Preferred Skills

Samsung is seeking a creative and strategic self-starter who is proactive, entrepreneurial and comfortable challenging conventional thinking.

The successful candidate should be able to drive alignment and execution across a matrixed organization and communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, including public speaking, meeting facilitation and presentations.

The role also requires strong interpersonal skills, integrity, sound judgment, resilience and adaptability.

The ideal candidate will be capable of understanding different stakeholder perspectives, establishing priorities quickly, meeting deadlines and knowing when issues need to be escalated to senior management.

Samsung particularly values someone who can serve as a trusted counselor and strategic contributor whose advice and perspective are actively sought by colleagues and leadership.

Regular full-time employees may have access to:

  • Medical insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k)

Why This Role Matters

This is a broad ESG leadership position, not simply a sustainability reporting job.

The Senior Manager will help connect Samsung's corporate sustainability strategy with U.S. regulatory requirements, operational performance, customer expectations, procurement, sales and corporate reputation.

The role is particularly relevant as U.S. companies face increasingly complex climate disclosure, emissions reporting and sustainability expectations.
