The Opportunity
The SHEQ Coordinator will support the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality systems at the plant level.
This role is built around one central objective.
Ensuring that operational activities comply with internationally recognized safety, environmental, and quality standards while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
You will work across audits, compliance, risk management, training, reporting, documentation, and corrective action processes.
What You'll Do
SHERQ Systems Implementation
Participate in the development of plant-level SHERQ systems
Support the implementation of safety, health, environmental, risk, and quality management processes
Ensure SHERQ systems remain aligned with organizational requirements and best practices
Compliance & ISO Management
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 requirements
Maintain impact and risk registers
Ensure management programs remain current and compliant
Monitor adherence to applicable SHEQ standards and procedures
Audits & Inspections
Plan and coordinate site audits and inspections
Participate in both internal and external SHEQ audits
Identify non-conformances during audits and inspections
Recommend corrective actions and verify implementation
Risk Monitoring & Reporting
Collect data and maintain reporting systems
Monitor SHEQ performance indicators
Track the status of non-conformance reports and corrective actions
Provide regular feedback to the SHEQ Manager
Compile, coordinate, and distribute SHEQ reports
Training & Documentation
Coordinate site-specific SHEQ training activities
Manage the document management system
Maintain records and ensure documentation standards are met
Support knowledge sharing and compliance awareness across the site
Administration & Stakeholder Coordination
Attend SHERQ-related meetings
Perform administrative functions related to SHEQ operations
Maintain communication between operational teams and management
Support plant-wide compliance activities
Requirements
Core Qualifications
National Diploma in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Management or an equivalent qualification
SAMTRAC certification or an equivalent qualification
Certification in OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 and ISO 14000
Risk management training or certification
Professional Experience
Minimum of five years of professional experience
Experience in engineering, mining, construction, or mobile equipment environments
Knowledge of SHEQ systems and industry best practices
Strong understanding of ISO requirements and compliance frameworks
Technical Competencies
