The Opportunity
The Director of Programs & Learning will connect strategy, programs, research, learning, and collaboration across the CLIMA Fund.
You will lead major initiatives, coordinate the Programs and Learning & Evaluation teams, translate movement insights into actionable strategy, and help strengthen how the Fund learns from and communicates its work.
This is a role for someone who can move comfortably between big-picture strategy and the practical work of turning ideas into programs.
What You’ll Do
Programmatic Leadership & Initiative Coordination
Lead the continued development and implementation of the Let It Flow Initiative
Develop initiative strategies and coordinate partnerships, fundraising support, learning, and evaluation
Support the Democracy’s Immune System Initiative and emerging programmatic priorities
Connect program priorities with communications and fundraising narratives
Translate movement analysis into compelling evidence and strategic framing
Coordinate the cross-Fund Programs Team
Represent CLIMA Fund with philanthropic and partner audiences
Learning, Evaluation & Research
Synthesize lessons, emerging trends, and strategic implications across member organizations
Steward CLIMA’s learning and evaluation processes
Advance the Fund’s collective learning agenda
Coordinate the Learning and Evaluation Team
Develop impact frameworks and learning tools
Manage research initiatives examining the impact of grassroots movements
Collaborative Leadership
Support strategic planning and organizational reflection
Strengthen collaboration and communication across member organizations
Bring programmatic insights and political analysis into organizational decision-making
Support collaboration across organizational boundaries
Help foster a culture grounded in collaboration, equity, and care
Requirements
Core Qualifications
At least 10 years of professional experience in climate justice, philanthropy, movement-building, organizational learning, or related fields
Direct experience partnering with grassroots climate justice movements
Experience managing complex initiatives across organizations, networks, or collaborations
Professional Strengths
Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills
Experience designing learning and evaluation processes
Excellent written, digital, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to prioritize, negotiate, coordinate, and collaborate across diverse stakeholders
Strong planning and coordination capabilities
Strategic & Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of climate justice, systems change, and movement-led approaches
Ability to translate research, learning, and insights into strategy and actionable initiatives
Experience managing multiple priorities across teams and geographic locations
