Travel: Occasional travel to Northern Cape and Limpopo provinces
Experience Level: 3 – 5 years (NGO / development sector)
Engagement Type: Consultancy

Some roles collect data.
Others translate data into decisions that shape real-world outcomes.

This one demands the latter.

M&E Systems & Frameworks

You will design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks that move beyond compliance and into insight.

The goal is not just to track activities, but to build systems that reveal what is working, what is failing, and what needs to change.

Data Management & Analysis

You will oversee the full data lifecycle, from collection to analysis and reporting.

This includes ensuring data quality, reliability, and usability. Because in development work, weak data leads to weak decisions.

Reporting & Insight Generation

Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports are part of the role, but the real value lies in interpretation.

Your analysis will inform program adjustments, resource allocation, and strategic direction.

Capacity Building & Collaboration

You will support teams and partners in strengthening their M&E and data management capabilities.

This is influence through knowledge. You are not just managing data. You are building a culture of evidence-based decision-making.

Field Monitoring & Impact Assessment

Expect field engagement. You will conduct monitoring visits, assess program sustainability, and evaluate impact across project sites.

This ensures that data reflects reality, not assumptions.

Candidate Profile

This role suits professionals who are analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating both data and field environments.

You need to balance structure with adaptability, especially in dynamic NGO settings where conditions are rarely static.

Key Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, or related fields (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience: 3–5 years in M&E within NGOs or related sectors
  • Skills: Quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, reporting
  • Core Strengths: Analytical thinking, communication, report writing
  • Other: Willingness to travel for field monitoring

Final Take

This is not a reporting role.

It is where:

  • data becomes insight
  • insight becomes strategy
  • and strategy drives measurable community impact

If you believe data should do more than sit in spreadsheets, this is where you prove it.
