This role sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and real-world execution.

What You’ll Do

Grant Strategy & Analysis

Evaluate project concepts and grant proposals with a critical, analytical lens
Conduct due diligence, contextual research, and risk assessment
Develop strategic recommendations for funding decisions

Portfolio & Program Management

Manage a portfolio of grants and partnerships end-to-end
Identify implementation risks and solve operational bottlenecks
Monitor evolving humanitarian and geopolitical contexts

Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with NGOs, governments, and private sector partners
Act as a key point of contact for grantees
Build and maintain high-trust external relationships

Field & Impact Oversight

Assess program performance and impact
Strengthen effectiveness through data-driven recommendations
Support on-the-ground learning and adaptive strategy

Internal Strategy & Communications

Produce briefing notes, reports, and leadership memos
Support communications and strategic updates
Translate complex data into clear decision-making insights


What They’re Looking For

You are analytical, composed under pressure, and strategically sharp.

Core qualifications:

Master’s degree and or 5–10 years of relevant experience
Background in international development, philanthropy, or private sector strategy
Strong budget analysis and financial assessment skills
Exceptional writing and communication ability
Proven project management from concept to execution
Ability to synthesize complex information quickly


Preferred Edge

Experience in Ukraine, Central or South America
Expertise in:
Food security and agriculture
Economic resilience and livelihoods
Infrastructure and recovery systems
Systems change involving private sector actors

Field experience in conflict or fragile settings
Spanish or Ukrainian language proficiency


Key Details

Full-time, in-office role
Located near Friendship Heights Metro
Up to 20% international travel, including complex environments
Must be authorized to work in the United States
