Global Sustainability Director, Logistics Decarbonization at The LEGO Group

Location: London, United Kingdom
Contract: Full-Time (Hybrid)

About the Company:

The LEGO Group builds more than toys.

It builds:

  • global supply chains
  • cultural influence
  • and increasingly, climate accountability in manufacturing and logistics

Because when a company ships billions of products worldwide,
logistics is not a backend function.

It is the carbon story.

About the Role:

This is not a sustainability support role.
This is ownership of logistics decarbonization at a global scale.

You are responsible for:

  • defining emissions baselines
  • setting reduction targets
  • executing transformation across transport and warehousing

In essence, you take a complex global logistics network…
and bend it toward net zero.

What You’ll Do:

Strategy & Roadmap Leadership

  • Build a global sustainability strategy for logistics operations
  • Define CO₂ reduction targets aligned with corporate climate goals
  • Design a decarbonization roadmap across transport and warehousing

Carbon Measurement & Reporting

  • Establish Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions baseline
  • Implement global KPIs and data systems
  • Align reporting with recognized frameworks and standards

Decarbonization Execution

  • Identify initiatives such as:
    • route optimization
    • alternative fuels
    • energy-efficient warehouses
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for implementation

Procurement & Supplier Influence

  • Embed sustainability into logistics contracts and RFPs
  • Drive supplier engagement on emissions reduction
  • Influence third-party logistics providers

Program Delivery & Governance

  • Lead global rollout of sustainability initiatives
  • Coordinate across Procurement, Logistics, and Sustainability teams
  • Establish governance structures for execution

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as internal subject-matter expert on logistics emissions
  • Engage executives and external partners
  • Translate progress into clear, decision-ready insights

What They’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years in logistics, supply chain, or sustainability
  • Deep expertise in Scope 3 emissions and carbon accounting
  • Strong program leadership across global operations
  • Data-driven decision-making capability
  • Experience integrating sustainability into procurement and operations
  • Familiarity with digital tools for emissions tracking

Why This Role Matters:

Let’s call it what it is.

Most ESG roles:

  • report emissions
  • talk about targets

This one physically reduces them.

You are operating at the hardest layer of sustainability:
Scope 3 logistics emissions

That means:

  • external partners
  • fragmented data
  • real operational constraints

And yet, this is where the biggest climate impact sits.

So this role is not about ambition.
It is about execution under real-world friction.
