About the Role:
The Nature Conservancy is hiring a Carbon Project Manager to drive the development and execution of nature-based carbon projects.
This role sits deep in the operational layer of climate action. You are not just advising on sustainability. You are managing real-world carbon projects from design to verification, ensuring they deliver measurable emissions reductions and align with global standards.
You will work across teams, partners, and geographies to implement projects tied to carbon markets, conservation, and climate finance. This is where climate strategy becomes funded, verified, and scaled.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead development and execution of carbon projects across their lifecycle
Design and implement monitoring, reporting, and verification systems (MRV)
Coordinate with global teams, partners, and stakeholders
Support carbon market engagement and project certification processes
Provide technical analysis and guidance for climate and conservation strategies
Ensure compliance with carbon standards and environmental frameworks
Develop tools, data systems, and methodologies for project delivery
Requirements:
Background in environmental science, climate, or related field
Strong experience in carbon markets or climate project management
Knowledge of MRV systems and carbon accounting frameworks
Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
