Climate Communication & Public Insight Specialist at Climate Outreach

Organization: Climate Outreach

Location: Primarily UK-based roles
Work Model: On-site / Hybrid (UK-based with travel required depending on role)

About the Role:

Climate Outreach is hiring a Researcher to strengthen its evidence-based approach to climate communication.

This is not a typical sustainability role. It sits inside behavioral science meets climate strategy, where the mission is to figure out how people actually respond to climate messaging, not how we wish they did.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on climate communication
  • Support development of evidence-based engagement strategies
  • Work with internal research and programme teams
  • Help shape how organizations communicate climate issues to the public

Requirements (Implied):

  • Strong background in social sciences research
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Interest in climate communication and public engagement
  • Ability to translate research into practical insights

Important Constraints:

  • Must have right to work in the UK
  • Must be based in the UK
  • Travel within the UK may be required

Work Model Clarification:

This is NOT remote globally.

It is effectively:

  • UK-based
  • Likely hybrid (office + travel)
  • Not accessible if you are outside the UK without work authorization

Why This Role Matters:

Most climate jobs focus on emissions, policy, or tech.

This one focuses on something more slippery and arguably more powerful:
human behavior.

Because if people don’t engage, even perfect policy dies quietly in a PDF.
